You Ask. We Answer.

Real answers to real moving questions, no fluff, no runaround.
Proudly serving Wooster, Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, and all of Northeast Ohio

Most customers book 2 to 3 weeks out, but if you’re moving at the end of the month or during summer (peak moving season across Northeast Ohio) book earlier. Whether you’re relocating within Wooster, moving to Cleveland, heading down to Columbus, or settling into the Akron area, earlier booking means more date options and a smoother ride. Not sure of your exact date yet? Ask us about our cancellation and rescheduling policies. The further out you make changes, the less it typically costs you.

Yes, or someone who knows the game plan should be there in your place. We do four walkthroughs total: one at your old home when we arrive, one before we leave, one at your new home when we get there, and a final check at the end. That means someone needs to be on-site who knows where everything goes, what’s supposed to come, and can make real-time calls. We’ll even ask you to peek in the back of the truck at the end to make sure nothing’s accidentally taking a road trip without you.

Pack it, label it, seal it, done. Clear your pathways, corral the pets, group things by room, and if possible, stage everything near a garage or foyer for easy access. Disconnect your electronics, take lampshades off, and if you want to save some cash, disassemble stuff yourself. If you’re moving within Wayne County or nearby and can make small runs to the new place before move day, even better. Think through furniture placement in the new home before the truck shows up. Changing your mind about the couch halfway up the stairs is… not fun for anyone.

We treat your home like we live there. Floor runners go down in high-traffic areas, entry doors get covered, stair rails get blanketed, and all furniture is fully wrapped. On hardwood stairs, we tape runners down with painter’s tape so they don’t budge. Got extra-soft floors (cork, anyone)? Give us a heads-up so we can bring extra protection. We also carry thin cardboard for tight stairwell turns, because walls are not packing material. Whether we’re in a Wooster ranch home, a Columbus condo, or a classic Cleveland two-story, the same care applies.

Absolutely. Standard beds, tables, and frames are no problem. For complex items like multi-station gym equipment or pool tables, we may bring in a certified third party, but we arrange all of it and make sure you know the cost upfront. No surprise bills. Whether you’re in Wooster, Medina, Ashland, or anywhere else we serve, the same commitment applies.

We pad and wrap TVs carefully. For full valuation coverage though, they need to be in a TV box, which we provide. We’ll take it off the mount, box it up properly, and load it in a secure spot in the truck. If you prefer to load it in your own car, we’ll help you get it there. Just know that without a box, we can’t cover it under valuation and we’ll ask you to sign a disclaimer.

We can’t move propane tanks, paint, chemicals, flammable materials, liquids, ammo, cash, or jewelry. These are safety and insurance restrictions, not us being picky. Move day is chaotic whether you’re in Wooster or Columbus, so we ask that you put any cash, medications, or firearms in your personal vehicle before we arrive. Important documents like birth certificates, social security cards, passports, and contracts should ride with you in a folder or small safe.

Everything fragile gets individually wrapped. We use packing paper (also known as newsprint) instead of bubble wrap. You can still feel the piece through it, it travels easier to job sites across our service area, and it’s more eco-friendly. Items are loaded strategically in the truck so your grandmother’s china isn’t playing bumper cars with your cast iron. We take breakables seriously, whether we’re loading up in Wooster or unloading in the Short North.

Yes, and especially if your dresser is particleboard. Particleboard is already fragile during a move, and extra weight makes damage much more likely. Solid wood dressers are sturdier, but we still recommend clearing out valuables, books, jewelry, coins, or anything fragile. Clothing and towels in a solid dresser? Usually fine. Just don’t overstuff it trying to avoid packing boxes. A 200-lb dresser is no fun for anyone, especially on a tight Cleveland-area stairwell.

Yes, for most situations. If the safe is under 600 lbs and staying on the first floor with no stairs, we’re good. Going upstairs or down into a basement on a slope? That calls for extra crew or special equipment. If the path to the basement isn’t paved (which we see a lot in older Wayne County and Summit County homes), let us know so we can bring plywood to protect the yard from heavy-dolly ruts. We’ll walk you through the safest option every time.

We don’t charge for drive time to your home. That’s covered under a flat truck and equipment fee. The clock starts when we arrive at your door and stops when everything’s in place, cleaned up, and the bill is wrapped. We bill in 15-minute increments with a 2 or 3-hour minimum depending on the day. No hidden charges, no guessing. The same straightforward billing whether you’re in Wooster, Akron, or Columbus.

Inventory isn’t busywork. It’s how we make sure we show up with the right truck, the right crew, and the right equipment. Got a safe over 600 lbs? We need a lift-gate truck. A riding mower or golf cart? We need split ramps. Baby grand piano going upstairs? That takes extra trained hands. Moves across our service area from Wooster to Cleveland, Akron to Columbus all have unique home layouts and access conditions. Accurate inventory is how we nail it every time.

Yes, all of them. We’re certified in disassembly and reassembly of Sleep Number beds, mechanical beds, bunk beds, and sleigh beds. The only beds we don’t do are cribs (liability reasons) and hospital beds (too complex). If you have a mechanical or Sleep Number bed, share the model number with us beforehand so we can make sure our crew is prepared, especially for multi-floor moves common in Akron and Cleveland homes.

Yes, and we know the drill. We handle apartment and condo moves throughout the greater Akron, Cleveland, and Columbus areas regularly. Elevator reservations, parking logistics, building access, we coordinate it all. Tip: reserve the elevator and make sure building management honors that reservation so our crew isn’t playing elevator roulette on move day. If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI) from vendors, which is common in newer Columbus and Cleveland high-rises, just ask. We provide those at no charge. Long carries or limited parking affect time, so be upfront about access.

It happens all the time, especially in active markets like Columbus and Cleveland, and we’re not rattled. We can adjust arrival windows, temporarily hold your items on the truck at our secure Wooster facility, or move things into storage. Just know that a very late start may affect whether we can complete a large move in one day, and there may be a late-start fee for crews traveling from Wayne County to distant service areas. If you can schedule closings with some overlap of ownership, do it.
Payment is collected at the end of the job: card, money order, cashier’s check, or cash. We do it this way so you have peace of mind that everything’s finished before money changes hands. Credit card? There’s a 3% convenience fee. No personal checks on interstate moves. Cash? Keep it on you and in your sight until you hand it to the crew leader. Move days are busy, and at Krupp we serve customers from Wooster to Columbus, so keeping track of your valuables always matters.
Most homes take 3 to 8 hours. The range depends on how much stuff you have, how packed (or not) it is, stairs, and distance. A local Wooster-to-Wooster move obviously runs differently than a full-house move from Wayne County to the Columbus suburbs. We give you a realistic estimate based on your specific situation and staff accordingly. Larger homes, especially the big older properties common in Medina, Ashland, and Wooster, can take multiple days.
Yes, everything from packing a couple of boxes to doing your entire home. We customize based on your budget and needs and serve customers across Wooster, Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, and everywhere in between. On flat-rate moves, packing is priced per material used. On hourly moves, pack time rolls into your labor. Breakables and high-value items packed by us are covered under your valuation. Packed by you? We can’t vouch for what’s inside.
Wrap each piece individually, cushion the bottom of the box, and pack plates vertically like records, not flat. Bowls can nest inside each other with paper in between. Stemware gets wrapped around the stem first, then placed upright, never on its side. Use small, sturdy boxes. A giant box of dishes is a back injury waiting to happen. Label it FRAGILE, and trust us, your future self unpacking in the new home will thank you.
Yes, depending on the weight and complexity. Some pieces need partial disassembly, and if it’s especially complex, we’ll coordinate a third party. Tell us what you’ve got during the estimate so we arrive prepared, whether we’re picking up in Wooster or Akron.
Yes, uprights, baby grands, and grands. We use specialty equipment and trained movers only. We remove the legs, lyre, and music desk, fully pad-wrap the body, and transport it on a piano board. One heads-up: we don’t lock the keys. That’s on you to do before the move. And yes, you’ll want to get it tuned after it settles into its new space. Standard piano life, whether it’s staying in Wayne County or heading to a Columbus living room.
If you’ve got it, use it! Original boxes are great and could save you some cash. If not, we supply TV boxes (purchase or rent), pack the TV properly, and it’s covered under your valuation. Skip the box and we’ll still protect it with padding, but it won’t be covered under valuation and you’ll sign a disclaimer.
Yes. Temperature-controlled, containerized storage at our Wooster facility, serving customers from Wayne County, Medina County, Summit County, and beyond. Your items stay padded and secured. Our facility is gated and monitored 24/7. Unlike a self-storage unit, your items are protected against fire, flood, and pest issues. We prorate costs so you only pay for the time you actually use, and we use vault containers holding roughly a room’s worth of stuff so you’re not paying for empty space.
Yes, by appointment. Give us at least 48 hours notice. Items are stored in sealed vaults stacked by forklift at our Wooster warehouse, so access takes some coordinating. There’s a warehouse handling fee to pull your vaults. If you need frequent access, we’ll help you find a better configuration. Sometimes a small accessible unit for everyday items makes more sense alongside your main vault storage.
Be honest with us, seriously. If you tell us ahead of time, we can send packers out with materials. If you’re scrambling when we arrive, we can work around it, but it will affect time and cost. If you’re behind and can’t use our professional packing services, prioritize: get china out of cabinets, empty dressers, and clear table surfaces so the crew can start on furniture while you finish up. This applies whether we’re in a Wooster bungalow or a Columbus suburb townhome.
Only when stairs meaningfully impact the job, such as multiple flights, tight turns, or heavy items. We see plenty of both in the historic neighborhoods of Wooster, Akron, and Cleveland, where older homes often have narrow stairwells. We’ll always tell you upfront if there’s a stair factor and adjust crew size to keep things moving efficiently.
Claims are handled by our dedicated claims manager through a structured process governed by FMCSA regulations. Local Ohio moves: file within 90 days. Interstate: 120 days from delivery. We have 90 days to process once a claim is received. Here’s how to set yourself up: inspect everything on move day before we leave, take close-up and wide photos of any damage, gather receipts or comparable values, and wait until you’re fully unpacked before filing. We only accept one claim form, so make it count.
Yes, if you’re handling packing yourself, sealed and labeled boxes are how we keep your quote accurate and your move efficient. If you’re not going to be ready, tell us early. We’d much rather send help than show up to a half-packed house anywhere from Wooster to Columbus.
Yes, as long as everything is clean and dry. Propane tanks ride separately due to safety rules. Grills should be thoroughly cleaned before we load them. For Kamado Joe or Big Green Egg grills, we take extra precautions since ceramic can have hairline fractures. Patio furniture going into our Wooster storage? Let it dry out completely first. Ohio humidity is mold’s best friend. Outdoor concrete or ceramic planters? Flag those early. They may need a lift-gate truck.
Hourly moves are billed in 15-minute increments from the time we arrive to the time we finish. It’s great for smaller local moves within Wayne County or nearby areas. Flat-rate (also called “binding” or “guaranteed” pricing) is calculated upfront based on your detailed inventory. If we underestimate, that’s on us, not you. Interstate moves and intrastate moves over 50 miles (like Wooster to Columbus or Wooster to Cleveland) are required to be flat-rated by law. If knowing your final price matters, flat-rate is your peace of mind.
Training plus the right tools. We put down neoprene runners in high-traffic areas, use rubber-wheeled dollies, never slide dollies under furniture (we lift, then angle), and use painter’s tape and cardboard on freshly finished or especially soft floors. Ohio’s older housing stock, especially the beautiful hardwoods you find in Wooster and Cleveland’s historic neighborhoods, means our crews know how important this is. Our equipment is inspected regularly: no sharp edges, no exposed metal.
Yes, appliances need to be disconnected before we arrive. We can walk you through what needs to be done, and if you’d rather not deal with it, we can schedule a third-party service. Just let us know ahead of time. This applies to customers across our service area from Wooster to Akron.
Locally in the Wooster, Wayne County, and surrounding areas, yes, with caveats. Plants aren’t insurable, and the back of a moving truck is not climate-controlled, so Ohio summer heat and winter cold can stress them out fast. Water them a couple of days before (not the morning of, since wet pots are heavy), check for bugs, and clean the pots. Most customers prefer to transport plants themselves. Interstate moves? We can’t legally transport live plants across state lines. Giant outdoor planters? Flag those early. They may need a lift-gate truck.
Yes, completely. Empty it, clean it, and dry it out. If it’s going into our Wooster storage facility, leave the door cracked open so moisture can escape. This matters in Ohio’s humid climate. We don’t move fridges with food: closing delays happen, food shifts and breaks glass shelves, and moisture can leak onto other items in the truck. Remove the water filter too. Those hold more water than you’d think.
We load like we’re playing Tetris. Heavy items on the bottom, lighter on top, boxes tucked into chair legs and gaps, straps securing the load every 10 feet (required by regulation). Boxes are significantly better than bags for this reason. The same careful loading method that protects your items on a Wooster cross-street move protects them just as well on a run to Columbus or Cleveland.
Yes, but tell us about them. Northeast Ohio has incredible antique pieces in its older homes, and we treat them accordingly. If a piece is worth more than $100 per pound or over $1,000 total, it needs to be declared as high-value so it’s covered under your valuation. Tell us about wobbly legs, old repairs, or anything that hasn’t been moved in decades. A hutch that’s been in the same corner of a Wooster Victorian home for 80 years is not the same as something that moved last year.
Yes, and living in Northeast Ohio, we’d never work if we stopped for rain. We use extra shrink wrap over blankets, additional floor runners, and rotate crew members inside and outside to minimize water tracking. Light to moderate rain barely affects our timeline. The only things that pause a move are ice storms, dangerous driving conditions, or genuine safety risks. Northeast Ohio winters do occasionally throw those at us. If conditions are truly unsafe, we’ll contact you proactively and reschedule without penalties.
Typically 2 to 6 hours, depending on packing, stairs or elevators, and distance. A one-bedroom in downtown Wooster runs differently than one on the 12th floor of a Cleveland high-rise with elevator waits. We’ll give you a realistic range based on your actual setup.
We problem-solve. First we assess: can it be disassembled? Should the door come off its hinges? As a last resort for truly massive pieces, we can hoist items from windows or balconies with a four-person strap system, something we’ve done in older Cleveland and Wooster homes with narrow doorways more than a few times. Be upfront about pieces you’ve struggled with before. That history helps us plan.
Label by destination room, not where the box came from. If it’s going to the loft, label it “Loft” and not “Old Basement Den.” Use thick black Sharpie on blank surfaces. For complex moves with lots of rooms, which is common in the larger homes we move in Wooster, Medina, and Ashland, go color-coded: pink tape for the guest room, green tape for the office. Mark the top AND one side so boxes can be identified even when stacked.
Attics: yes, if there’s a solid floor and built-in stairs. Pull-down ladders and plywood-on-joists? That’s a no. Basements: accessible with at least 5 feet of clearance and no signs of rodents, mold, or mildew. Ohio’s older housing stock, especially in Wooster, Orrville, and Ashland, often has basement access quirks. If outside access to a basement involves a wet or muddy path (very common after Ohio rains), let us know. We’ll bring plywood. We don’t do crawl spaces.
We’ve got you covered. We can load your items, bring the truck back to our secure Wooster facility, and deliver when you’re ready, typically up to 3 to 5 days on-truck holds. This comes up a lot with Wooster-to-Columbus or Wooster-to-Cleveland moves where closing timelines don’t perfectly align. Holds in peak summer season cost more, but we don’t charge for Sunday or holiday holds when trucks aren’t otherwise in use.
Yes, for small offices and commercial spaces up to around 5,000 sq ft. We handle furniture, packing, transport, and setup throughout Wooster, Wayne County, and surrounding areas. We’re specialists in household goods, so for massive commercial moves requiring 10 to 30 person crews, we’ll point you to the right partner. But if you’ve got a small Wooster or Akron office with a handful of desks and someone handling IT internally, that’s squarely in our wheelhouse.
Honestly? Get them out of the house if you can. Boarding pets or having them stay with a friend makes move day dramatically smoother, whether you’re in a busy Wooster neighborhood or a Columbus suburb. If they must be home, put pets in a clearly labeled, secured room and tell us. For kids: prep them emotionally in the weeks leading up (don’t spring it on them), pack a go-bag with snacks, activities, and a comfort item. The more decisions you make before move day, the more attention you can give everyone who needs it.
Tips are appreciated but never expected. Industry standard is $10/hour per mover or up to 20% of the total move cost. Tip what feels right based on performance. Cash, Zelle, Cash App, personal check, or credit card all work. For multi-day moves (common on Wooster-to-Columbus or Wooster-to-Cleveland jobs), tip at the end of each day and hand it to each crew member individually.
We ask that you empty both. It protects the furniture and protects our crew. If your specific situation makes that tricky, just reach out and we’ll talk through options. Same answer whether you’re in Wooster, Akron, or anywhere else we serve.
We can help coordinate. We offer debris removal starting at $75 (mattresses are an additional dump fee, which we’ll tell you upfront). We can also drop donations off at a center or hand things off to a buyer if addresses are arranged ahead of time. Serving Wooster, Wayne County, and the surrounding area means we know the local donation centers and disposal options. Color-code items you want donated (pink tape = donate) so there’s zero confusion on move day.
We can position and slide them into place, but hookup is your responsibility. Not sure how? We can walk you through it, or schedule a third-party service. Just give us a heads-up. This goes for all of our customers across Wayne, Medina, Summit, and Franklin counties.
Not much, mostly clear access and a game plan. Have your packing done before we arrive, clear pathways, and make sure whoever’s giving direction to the crew is on the same page. Tell us which restroom to use when we walk in. Parking spot reserved? Perfect. This matters especially in dense areas of Akron and Cleveland where street parking can be limited. Cold drinks and snacks are always appreciated but never required. Pizza is the undisputed crew favorite. We bring all tools, padding, and equipment.
One word: preparation. The more decisions you make before move day, the fewer you have to make while exhausted and surrounded by boxes. Map out your new floor plan in advance (tape measure, not guesses). Eat real meals. Ohio summers on a move day will drain you fast, so stay hydrated. Communicate your most important items to the crew so they know what matters most to you. Trust your team to do their jobs. And if anything feels off? Call us immediately. We’ve been serving Wooster and Northeast Ohio for years and we’ll make it right.
